It was at the Montreal Olympic Games 1976 that she achieved one of the greatest moments in sports history - - the very first perfect 10 on the asymmetrical bars. In the following years, she was able to score an additional six perfect 10s which made her the youngest Olympic all-around gold medalist, at just fourteen years of age. The dazzling Nadia Comaneci did more than draw interest, she also assisted in helping Romania gain a global presence. The sporting icon made her a world-wide sensation after she came up with an unbeatable performance. She created a legend as well as helped make gymnastics a popular sport around the globe. Additionally, it altered people's perspective of female athletes. She had such an impact that she was dubbed the Olympic toe on and release move. These are still rated high in difficulty. In addition to the Olympics the gymnast showed remarkable performances at the World Championships and European Championships too, making her a living legend and one of the best-known gymnasts the world could ever be privileged to.
