Audra McDonald's talent is unparalleled in the range and variety of her work in her roles as a performer, singer as well as an actor. She appeared on the show in 1999. starred along with Kathy Bates in ABC's acclaimed remake of Annie. Also, she had an occasional role in NBC's Law & Order Special Victims Unit in the year 2000. McDonald, who received an Emmy Award nomination for 1999 for her work as a character in an HBO adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Wit directed and starring Emma Thompson, returned on the network's air in 2003 to star in the drama on politics Mister Sterling. The film was produced by Emmy Award winner Lawrence O'Donnell Jr. The Bedford Diaries, a WB television series that debuted in the year 2006. McDonald then appeared as the privilege of playing a regular role in NBC's Kidnapped during the following year. McDonald received an fourth Emmy award for her part in HBO's film special of Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill in 2016.
